Introduction

SuzukiCould you please introduce and tell us a bit about yourself.

Pim:Hello, I’m attorney Ployprapat Nora-On but you can call me by nickname “Pim”. I am from Bangkok where my law practice is located.

SuzukiWhat got you interested in becoming a lawyer?

Pim:My interest in law is largely to help people and give something back to my country of Thailand. Also, I enjoy meeting new people and dealing with different issues on a daily basis.

SuzukiCan you tell me about your trade name Open Door Lawyer and what it means?

Pim:Open Door Lawyer is inspired by an intention to put people over profit and to welcome everyone who needs assistance to our law practice.

Service

SuzukiI’d like to know more about Notary Services.

Pim:In Thailand notary services may only be done by a notary services attorney, it is a separate certification. For me personally I like new technology and am focusing on E-notary whereby clients can meet with me in virtual space and sign documents with digital signatures. This is cost effective and also very convenient.

SuzukiWhat kind of services do you provide? For what types of situations do foreigners require notarial services?

Pim:Specific situations are the swearing of identity documents required for bank account openings, wills, incorporation activities, power of attorney (POA), personal and commercial contracts generally etc.

SuzukiI heard you are doing a consulting service on customs law as it applies to import/export  and re-location services as well.

Pim:I spent 18 years at Thai Customs, 16 years as part of an investigations team. During that time I learned a lot about customs procedure from the inside and also developed friendships with some great people.

SuzukiWhat kind of consultation do you provide?

Pim:In my practice I can assist my clients with literally any import/export issues they may have. I have a large team I can tap into at customs to assist corporations etc. I’m also very happy to handle small personal matters like moving household effects into and out of Thailand.

SuzukiHow can we contact Open Door Lawyer?

Pim:You can get in touch with me by the form on our website, my email or Line Official Account.

SuzukiLastly, could you please provide a message to foreign people and companies who are planning to come to Thailand on how you may be able to assist them in becoming established in Thailand?

Pim:I can certainly assist with any legal requirements that foreign companies and individuals coming to Thailand may have. My message to you is that you can rest easy here. The laws in Thailand are well intentioned and there are many hard working people in government who want you to succeed here. When the law may need navigating I am  at your service.
