The cabinet approved new rate of daily minimum wage starting from October 1.
As The tripartite committee of labour agreed on September, there will be 9 different rates for this hike. Highest rate of 354 Baht has been approved for Chon Buri, Rayong and Phuket. While the lowest rate of 328 Baht is setting for Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Nan and Udon Thani.
Workers in Bangkok and surrounding provinces will get 353 Baht of daily minimum wage.
Rising of daily minimum wage is separated in 9 tiers as list below.
(1) Daily wage 354 Baht for Chonburi, Rayong and Phuket
(2) Daily wage 353 Baht for Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon.
(3) Daily wage 345 Baht for Chachoengsao.
(4) Daily wage 343 Baht for Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.
(5) Daily wage 340 Baht for Prachinburi, Nong Khai, Ubon Ratchathani, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trat, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, Suphan Buri, Songkhla, Surat Thani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Lop Buri and Saraburi.
(6) Daily wage 338 Baht for Mukdahan, Kalasin, Sakon Nakhon, Samut Songkhram, Chanthaburi and Nakhon Nayok.
(7) Daily wage 335 Baht for Phetchabun, Kanchanaburi, Bueng Kan, Chainat, Nakhon Phanom, Phayao Surin, Yasothon, Roi Et, Loei, Phatthalung, Uttaradit, Nakhon Sawan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phitsanulok, Ang Thong, Sa Kaeo, Buriram and Phetchaburi.
(8) Daily wage 332 Baht for Amnat Charoen, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Trang, Sisaket, Nong Bua Lamphu, Uthai Thani, Lampang, Lamphun, Chumphon, Maha Sarakham, Sing Buri, Satun, Phrae, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Ratchaburi, Tak, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chaiyaphum, Ranong and Phichit.
(9) Daily wage 328 Baht for Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, Nan and Udon Thani.
The permanent secretary, Boonchob Suthamanaswong who is the tripartite committee’s chairman of meeting said that the daily wage is going to rise by an average of 5.02% at 337 Baht since January 2020.
Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin also confirmed that these hikes would be a win-win situation for both sides.
